Alabama Crimson Tide junior golfer Kathleen Ekey competed at the 2008 U.S. Women's Open over the weekend at Interlachen Country Club in Edina, Minn.
Ekey was one of 156 players competing in the event but was one of only 27 amateurs in the field.
The par-73, 6789-yard course proved to be a difficult one as Ekey missed the cut after shooting back-to-back rounds of 80.
